Popular travel company PRICELINE suffered a catastrophic marketing failure yesterday as consumers bolted to competitors ORBITZ and HOTWIRE. The company's stock plummeted almost 98% to just above a dollar as investors dumped their shares."Its a big misunderstanding" said CEO Jeffery Boyd. "Its not true..." he proclaimed at a directors meeting late yesterday afternoon.
The company's financial woes come amid fears that Philip R. Klein, editor of The Southeast Texas Political Review had endorsed the company in a recent article entitled "Negotiator."
William Shatner (who we like), Priceline spokesman was quick to comment:

Klein, a renowned political consultant and finder of lost pets, has gained notoriety in the political world for endorsing such causes as Fred Thompson for President, a BCS championship for the Texas Tech Red Raiders, and John F. Kennedy for a posthumous government position.
