Like Sands Through The Hourglass...

Well the 2010 census figures have been released and after all is said and done, Jefferson County gained some 222 residents for a grand total of 252,273.

But lets take a look a what Philip Klein has been telling us for the past few years:

Here are the facts - people are leaving Jefferson County to the tune of 120 families a month.

Since this time - the population has decreased and depending who you talk to - the population may hit less than 199k.

The Southeast Texas Political Review has learned that initial censes [sic] figures show an almost 5% decrease in population in Jefferson County Texas. Meaning? That almost 12,000 people have left Jefferson County Texas in the past 10 years.

Did you hear that the census might have Beaumont at a 11.1% decrease in population...oh never mind that is another story.

A mere ten years ago - Jefferson County had a population of almost 23,000 more people. In the last ten years - according to census figures - the population has dropped by? Well 23,000 people including families, individuals, part time workers and high school graduates.
